To the world she seemed okay;
Got her head screwed on right;
Had her heart in the right place;
Got her life figured out;
But deep inside she knew;
Something was missing;
Everyone said they look good together;
It must be a match made in heaven;
He finishes her sentences;
She laughs at his jokes;
They seemed perfect for each other;
But somehow they both knew;
Something was missing;
Car key, check;
Phone, check;
File, check;
Hankie, check;
Wallet, check;
Everything he could think of was on him;
But he still felt something was missing;
We all reach that point;
Where every step we take;
Calls for more question marks than periods;
Where everything checks out;
But still feel vacuums waiting to be filled;
Urging us to pay attention;
Sometimes our intuitions are right;
Other times it’s just our minds playing games on us;
Might sound like a gentle ticking reminder;
Or a pressing urge in our subconscious;
We get to remember what might have escaped us;
Or find what we suspect to be missing;
But we’ll keep on living;
Even when we find pieces;
Of our puzzle missing;
Knowing that we’ll find them;
Someway somehow;
That’s why I commit each day I get to see;
Into the hands of the only one God who created me;
To remind me of what I may have forgotten;
And help me forget what I don’t need to remember;
No matter how imperfect my life is;
It’s only in Him that I find myself complete;
With all my missing pieces held together;
Ever felt something was missing with you?
What fills up the missing places in your life?
