Don’t Hide Your Weaknesses

“My grace is made sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in your weakness” (2 Corinthians 12:9).

We all sometimes want to prove to God that we are okay…that we can go about our business by ourselves. But as humans as we are, we all have certain weaknesses and shortcomings which cannot be overcome with our strength.

We live in a world where we are driven by diverse pleasures which hinder us from living a fruitful Christian life. Our God knows us, Jesus His Son understands us because He has walked on this earth before and the Holy Spirit will empower us to overcome these fleshy desires if only we admit that we do have issues to deal with this flesh.

It is okay to tell God you’re facing challenges; that you are struggling with some things; that is why He has made His grace sufficient for you. All you have to do is to ask for His strength and it will be made available to you.

Remember that you are going through whatever it is right now because God knows you can make it out…with His help, of course. Just surrender your weaknesses to Jesus and He’ll manifest His strength through them. We sometimes get frustrated because we try over and over again to live righteously with our own strategies and energy.

Don’t be shy to ask over and over again when it seems your weaknesses are getting the upper part in your life. Just believe that God will empower you to live out your purpose in this life and you will receive it. Besides, we cannot live ‘spiritual’ lives empowered by ‘fleshy’ desires. Our flesh and spirits are always in contention; that is why we need God’s strength to enable us to live lives which are pleasing to Him.

Your weaknesses are what make us human; God’s strength is what makes Him divine. Denying you have a fault could cost you very dearly; why not admit them and let your Savior, King and Friend help you out?
