Misplacing personal items can be frustrating. And it usually happens when you’re already having a bad day. You want to kick yourself, scream your head out and hope that makes you feel a little better. But it just gets worse.
Most people have spare keys for their houses/apartments and vehicles. So when one is misplaced, you can pick up the spare and use it till you find it again. But imagine losing the keys to your house and having to break down the door whiles the spare key lies comfortably inside the house. This happens when the spare key isn’t placed in a convenient spot-where you could take and use it if you lost the main one.
Losing your cellphone? I’m sure a good number of people have experienced this and trust me, it’s not a feeling you’d like to have just for the fun of it. Most of us have our entire lives on our phones-from emergency contacts, important documents to sensitive personal records. Lose your phone and your life just comes to a standstill.
Thanks to phones, one doesn’t have to memorize cell numbers or even bank account numbers anymore. The memory on the phone saves the head all that trouble. With the phone, one can interact with thousand others online without necessarily having to make a call. Who has time for internet cafés these days?
You go offline and you feel non-existent and lost to the world. Our lives have been modified to revolve around our phones so much that even a flat battery makes us feel like we are suffocating. Having your phone in the wrong hands could cause a huge mess up when you have sensitive information and passwords stored on your phone. One can secure the phone with various app locks but that doesn’t make one feel any better when people are training themselves to be professional hackers these days.
You lose your car key on the day you’re running late for a very important meeting. It sucks but at least you can hop onto a bus or a cab. You lose your house key and you may have to destroy the door lock. If you can’t break it down by yourself and it is very late to find help, you may have to find someone’s place to crash for the night but at least, your belongings are safe. You lose your phone and you lose your voice, your access and it feels like you’ve lost a part of yourself.
I haven’t lost my keys before but I didn’t find losing my phone funny at all. Although I don’t wish to ever lose my keys, I’d rather I lost them instead of my phone.
What about you? Which one if lost would bring your life to a standstill?

My keys for sure. I lose my phone at least once a day so I know I’ll do fine without it. My keys though is a no no. I have keys for work and home and it would be chaotic to lose either of them

I lost my phone before…. It was a terrible time….. Fortunately the person who found the phone was good enough to answer it when I called and they said yep “I picked up your phone you can come collect it”
^_^
I have lost house keys when to a party danced like a psycho doing handstands and all sorts of flips that I emptied all contents of my pockets on the floor not to mention woke up sore like I spent the day in a gym…, never found my keys afterwards and my favourite gold coloured Parker pen ….
Fortunately roomie had own set of keys so copied those and it was no big deal….
So yeah losing keys not as stressful or costly unless you have a Home security system like the Fort Knox and you need the services of professionals ….

Walked around with my keys on a chain round my neck to avoid losing them, but the paranoia wore off but now I am careful when I go dancing I leavemy phone at home, and the keys somewhere safe and only carry the money I intend to spend no more lol

I’ve lost a phone once, was almost twice and just like Beaton, I called and the cab driver, where I dropped it, said I could come for it. I couldn’t think till it was back in my hands. I haven’t lost a house key before but I think I’d prefer that, if it’s my own place to losing my phone.

I’d rather lose my keys any day! I actually flushed my phone down the toilet once (back in the day when they were flip phones) and I thought I was gonna D-I-E!!! Of course, I didn’t. But I truly felt lost and disconnected.

Before I started reading, I had already concluded. I’d prefer to lose my house keys over my phone. Even my purse. Lol. I’m so protective of my phone that, I’ve never lost it

I’d rather lose my keys, eventually you can get those replaced and it might cause a headache, but could be resolved. I have stuff saved on my phone:pictures, notes, conversations…stuff that could never be replaced if I lost it. Especially from people who have passed. I hope I never lose my phone!

Yeah, I hope so too, Serena. The phone is too precious to lose lol

I’d rather loose my phone for two reasons. 1. It gives me an enforced break from the constant checking for messages and noise of being always connected. 2. I can get a newer and better model (funds permitting) and have all my contacts back in a heart beat, because of gmail, microsoft and other such mail systems… and I need only sign in on my online platforms to regain my life.
I don’t store passwords on my phone or special documents. What I would be more afraid of is losing my computer! If I forget my password, they are all saved on my computer and I can easily reset my accounts. So losing my phone, though inconveniencing may have some fringe benefits of an upgrade and an enforced vacation from the Internet 🙂

the phone, because i don’t have one! XD
though i’d just climb on the car roof and into the window if i lost the house keys. it’s not like the neighbors would be watching since i live out in the middle of nowhere :p

I definitely do not want to go through the agony of loosing my phone!!😂😂
It is serious ooo how our lives have practically ended up revolving around the gadget called cell phone.
But still I would rather loose my keys and go crush the night somewhere than loose my phone!!

Ha! The day I lost my phone was rather painful. It was the last day of my final year exam – writing the last paper. Oh! The amazing pictures I have in mind to shoot with my phone especially with course mates and all.
I will rather lost a key than a phone o.

I lost my phone twice and though that was frustrating it was nice to have the keys to my house, retrieve an old phone and get to the phone store the next day for a new Sim to enable the old phone.
I’d pick losing a phone over losing my house keys any day.

I have lost both in the part before. And so I don’t want a repeat experience. Both will cost money to replace – you know what I mean.

You can by a new one (like I just did ‘cos my phone broke). It’s easier (and cheeper!!) than change the abloy locks.
