False

What is false?

The opposite of true;
A distortion of truth;
A partial or blatant lie;
An illusion of reality;
A prediction gone wrong;
A report with details omitted;
A story with secrets;
A perfect image with a shady background;
As close to the truth as possible;
Almost, nearly but not exactly the truth;

It is easier to deal with blatant falsehood;
Than it is with a mirage;
They say when something is too good to be true;
Then perhaps it’s not good at all;
But how can one tell someone is too good;
When all one has known is too bad?
Some may call it naivety;
But what if it’s wishful thinking?
Hoping that something is worth
The benefit of doubt;
But no one is spared;
The punishment of entertaining falsehood;
No matter how clueless one is;
Because it is each person’s responsibility;
To know the truth behind every person and story;
And choose to believe or live with it.

It’s false to think beautiful roses don’t have thorns;
That all smiles are genuine;
That all fruits are edible;
That all animals can be pets;
That all Princes are charming;
All Cinderellas have missing shoes;
And all stepmothers are evil;
No size fits all;
Not everything fits in set categories;
Some love to be exceptions to the rule;

Sometimes situations look great at the first glance;
But it doesn’t hurt to look again;
We wish that some people are just right for us;
It is okay to be certain of that assertion;
Some pictures look perfect;
You might see clearer when you blink again;
Because sometimes what’s true and false;
Could be sharing a wall;
And a step back could make the thin line stand out;

No one likes falsehood;
When it makes a fool out of us;
Some would prefer to stick with the illusion;
Than find out the truth;

But I’d advise that:
You live true to yourself;
You speak true;
Leaving no room for doubt;
In your mind and that of others.
