Many drops of water make a mighty ocean;
So does many bricks put up a tall tower;
Humble beginnings may seem like a disadvantage;
But they serve as a firm foundation for greatness;
Attitudes of endurance, patience and tenacity;
Are best nurtured during tough times;
And when the groundwork is secured;
There is no limit to how tall the tower can get;
Without fears of it ever tumbling down;
You might have started on the wrong foot;
And be lagging behind in the race;
But in this life, who finishes first
Doesn’t necessarily make one the winner;
What counts most
Is being able to finish well;
It’s better late than never;
Others may be roofing their towers;
And you may just have found your first brick;
Life isn’t a bed of roses, everyone says;
That may be true but it also means
Some thorns have roses on them;
Just like the half-full half empty perspective;
How you see life influences how much you make of it;
People may throw stones at you;
Don’t run away, collect them
And make a stepping stone out of them;
Your enemies may think they are slowing you down;
Little do they know they are helping you build;
Providing you the bricks for your own tower;
It’s time to rise above
The insecurities, excuses and self-pity;
See every challenge as a brick;
Isolated bricks may seem like garbage;
But together, they can put up a mansion;
It doesn’t matter if you don’t have much;
If you are too old or young to start afresh;
Look around you and pick up the bricks;
And build yourself a tower.
