Holding onto hope

In a time when people are dying in their hundreds and thousands
Where science is racing behind time to come up with the right juice
It’s tempting to give in to despair
Give in to resentment and rant about the failing system to everyone who’d give a digital ear
Perhaps it helps sometimes to let out the steam so you can sleep it off
But despair has never presented an appealing menu

In the beginning of the crisis, people made fun of believers pleading with God to have mercy
Saying the answer lies in the science labs
But as the numbers rose and all the developing countries seemed uncharacteristically helpless
Their mocking voices have reduced their volume
Hope is essential, hope is active not passive aggressive
It includes doing the physical needful while keeping up a positive attitude

Some trust in their stellar science programmes and health facilities
Some trust in their able governments to sail them through these times
But some of us choose to place our hope in the hands of our Creator
Who holds the universe in His hands and controls its happenings
We hope by faithfully praying and believing that God will turn the tide
Hope isn’t lazy; it’s our lifeline.

  2. Peace, hope, joy, brighter future (all can only be assured by Him). As an old guy, walking with Him, I find encouragement seeing that there are millennials like you who are strong in your faith in Him. Amen, young sister.

Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the Lord our God.
We will trust against trust. With our hope is a lively one. His eye is on the sparrow and I know He will watch over us.

    Thank you Joseyphina.
