Yummy! (c) creativeweddingcakes.co.uk The thought of a cake is enough;
To whet anyone’s appetite;
From the feel of the icing on the fingers;
To the sensations aroused;
When the teeth bites into it;
And the tongue savors;
The rich flavors of the cake;
Every ingredient serves a purpose;
And not all are necessarily sweet;
But when they are expertly combined;
They produce a tasty cake;
Take one out completely;
Or mix them disproportionately;
And you have a culinary disaster;
To make a perfect cake;
Attention to detail is non-negotiable;
One is only rewarded with a beautiful cake;
When great effort is taken to make it.
Some are attracted to the icing;
Because of the bright colors;
And how it satisfies the cravings;
Of the sweet tooth;
How smooth it feels on the finger;
And how delightful it tastes in the mouth;
But as sweet as it may taste;
It is not part of the cake;
Only a topping.
A little taste here;
A little swipe there;
And it’s all gone;
Yet the cake remains.
For the cake to have a longer shelf life,
And to bring out the flavor;
A little liquor may be added;
It might not taste sweet on its own;
But it does help sweeten the cake;
I believe the wedding cake;
Is an epitome of marital life;
Where the icing stands for;
The bliss and sweetness;
Of new found love;
As much as it is enjoyed;
That feeling fades with time;
And the reality of life;
Is stripped bare;
For the couple to face.
Challenges which are sour in nature;
Are inevitable;
And yet when they are conquered;
They make the bond even stronger;
Just as the liquor preserves;
And flavors the cake;
So do challenges;
One can only tell how strong a bond is;
By how much it has been able to endure;
But most people only want to enjoy the icing of bliss;
And run out the exit door;
When the liquor of hard times come knocking;
Forgetting that it’s not the icing that preserves the cake;
But the liquor;
The icing will melt away under the pressure;
But it’s the liquor which makes the cake last long;
As a couple cuts through the cake;
I wish they will have this scenario in mind;
And prepare for what is ahead;
And as they feed each other with the cake;
They should always remember;
They are one now;
They are in it together;
They can only go the whole nine yards;
If they stick together;
And work it out come rain or shine.
A cake is more than food for the body;
It’s a lesson to learn for those who eat it.

I’m a lover of cakes especially red velvet and rum raisin cake. So yummy. I don’t like it too sweet. Just the right amount of sugar and the icing has to be on point. The cake in this picture looks so good 😋😋😋
