God is a Writer

God is a writer
Oh yes, He is and how awesome He is at it!
How else could he have over seven billion characters acting out at the same time?
He set the stage called earth, breathed life into man and said ‘Action’!
He started the story with the glorious end already in mind
Drafted us into character by conceiving us in the wombs of our mothers
And plotted out our destinies page by page, day by day, year by year
For a day is like a thousand years to Him and a thousand years, a day

God is a writer
A master of all genres, I must say
Some say He is a sadist; why else would He allow so much misery?
He orchestrated wars using human weakness to display His strength
He wove love stories in ways more powerful than the cupid’s arrow
He spoke through a burning bush and a donkey, parted waters and calmed stormy seas
Led people by a star, a pillar of cloud and fire
Excellent with flash forwards and flashbacks

Though He has total control over His characters
He gives them the free will to choose their paths and hence, their endings
For those who recognize Him as the Author and Finisher of their faith
He is willing and able to maneuver them through life’s twists and turns
And brings them to an expected end
But for those who decide to hold their own reins
They end tragically or die trying to craft perfect endings for themselves

God is a writer
The best there is who never runs out of ideas
If anyone who ever lived, who is living now and will in the near future live
Will never share a fingerprint
How can He ever run out of ways to make your story outstanding?
Unlike us who hit creative blocks and own stacks of failed, stale and stagnant drafts
His story keeps flowing like a stream, refreshing every tree on its way
Who holds the pen over your script?

God is a writer
Unpredictable He may be but you can be rest assured about His intentions
He might decide to take you through the hot fires of life
But know that He is refining you so you come out as pure gold
Freed from all chaff and presenting you in your best form
Even if this life deals you more of a bad hand than good
Remember, He has all eternity to make it up to you
You’re still not holding your pen, are you?

He set the stage called earth, breathed life into man and said ‘Action’!

That stage, the earth. Are you aware that the very mechanisms necessary to physically experience something beginning to resemble ‘happiness’ (enkephalin and opioid receptors) would not even exist in the world before some 3.5 billion years of terrestrial evolution had passed and untold billions of generations of living things had suffered enormously without as much as the hope of corporeal relief.

I’m curious as to what you think that tells you about “setting” the stage?
