We Are All Passengers on Board

#DailyPost

We are all passengers on board en route to our destinations

Some will get down as others are getting on

The atmosphere changes with each change of seat occupants

Some loud and all over the place, others reserved and quiet

Some violent and impatient, others calm and peace-loving

We pick up lessons from observing one another

We change our mindsets and behavior with each lesson learned

We grow better or bitter with each experience

Some see themselves as how they are described by others to be

Others see for themselves by staring into the mirror

Some are natural leaders, others rise up to the occasion

Some are loyal followers, others choose the winning side of the day

We berate the driver for taking a detour without consent

And praise him when we later find out the trouble he just avoided

Some have no idea where they are headed

Others have been told and so know what to expect

Some think they know until they realize they don’t

We mourn those whose journeys are seemingly shorter than they should be;

And celebrate those who have been on board the longest

But the driver knows best

As each finger differs in height and function

So does everyone who gets on board differ in purpose and time limit

Sooner or later we will all get to our last stop

It is my prayer that you will have no unfinished business left.

  1. I agree. This life that we live is essentially a train ride. We get off and get back on at places that bring us higher and sometimes lower.

But that is what I like about a train; you may know the destination and how to get there, but you can’t anticipate the challenges and struggles it will take to get there.

Our lives; from the moment we take our first breath starts the train. But sometimes that train gets de-railed due to our choices, but we don’t have to do everything on our own. In the Bible in Joshua; God is telling him not to be discouraged and that He will be with him wherever you go.

JOSHUA 1:9 “Have I not commanded thee, be strong and of a good courage. Do not be afraid, neither be thou dismayed for the Lord thy God is with you wherever you go.”
