Life is full of choices;
Sometimes given multiple choices;
Other times it’s an either…or situation;
Some are easier to make;
Others look simple but not that easy;
Regardless, we make them;
And hope for the best;
Because not to make a choice;
Is in itself a choice made.
Someone offers an opportunity with strings attached;
Do we take it or leave it?
Is the cost worth the prize?
Will we regret taking or leaving it?
Is there a better offer around?
You have a strategy to take your business to the next level;
But it sounds risky and so unpredictable in its outcome;
Do you trust your guts or believe the statistics?
Will you stick to what you know or take a chance and leap?
Stick with the devil you know or try the angel you’re yet to know?
With one, you might risk nothing and lose everything;
With the other you might risk everything and gain much more;
Which would you choose?
Someone you care about betrays you;
Do you resent her forever or do you forgive?
Do you broadcast his faults and make him an outcast?
Or do you give him another chance when he apologizes?
Do you generalize experiences to stereotype others?
Or does everyone gets a clean slate the first time?
Do you help others because it makes you look good?
Or because you want to help make the world a better place?
Do you give so you would be owed a favor?
Or because it is in your power to do so?
What choices do you make?
And why do you make them?
Do you overthink things or just do things on impulse?
Are you trusting or skeptical?
Optimistic or gloomy?
Is it your nature or is it a learned behavior?
Life may be more complicated than either…or scenarios;
But our choices mold us;
Hope yours are making you better each day;
And not disintegrating you into an image
You may not later recognize yourself.
