There’s a time for everything;
A time to make up and time to break up;
A time to walk towards and time to walk away;
A time to take a joke and a time to take things seriously;
A time to play nice and a time to be straightforward;
A time to act emotional and a time to be rational;
A time to share the news and a time to keep to oneself;
A time to build walls and a time to build bridges;
We all put up walls around us to keep out certain people
And sentiments from contaminating us from the inside;
And we create bridges to let in the right people and atmosphere;
But what if we are putting walls where we need to put bridges;
And bridges where we should put up walls?
What happens when we get the timing wrong?
As much as we are expected to live at peace with all men;
We need to be wary of the people around us;
The same people who bring us joy and laughter;
Can cause us sorrow and tears;
Know when to open the door to love;
And shut it to hate and bitterness;
Don’t make your walls permanent;
Because you would need to pull them down;
At one point in time to step out and to let in;
Neither make your bridges open all the time;
Lest you find yourself at the mercy;
Of any poison looking for accommodation;
Create a door on your wall;
And lead it to the bridge;
To be in charge of your own happiness;
You have to determine who and what you let in;
Are you well-structured and secured;
In your personal space?
Or do you constantly find yourself;
Struggling to keep sane?
Then you have some building to do.
