Is Your Candle Lit?

A candle is only lit when it grows dark;

A soft light it may have;

But it does drive the darkness away nonetheless;

A thousand candles in a room;

Lights up only that room;

But a candle each in every dark room;

Lights up the whole house;

 

The fact that many candles share in lighting up a place;

Doesn’t make their wax-melting go any slower;

Its lifespan on its own in a dark room;

Is just like another found with many others in the same room;

As long as it burns, it melts down.

 

The smallest of candles;

Isn’t scared of the gloomiest of darkness;

Because a little light;

Is all one needs to find his way;

 

 

Do you believe and call yourself;

A light of the world?

Why then are you afraid of the dark?

When the dark is already afraid of you?

The dark no matter how heavy;

Cannot blow out the light;

Only the wind can.

 

Found yourself in a dark place?

Trying to find your way out?

Why do you think you were put there in the first place?

To shine your light for others to see;

 

Put your light on;

And bless others with your soft gentle light;

And lead them to the Way;

Who will reveal to them the Truth;

And Give them Life.

 

Be scared of the dark no more;

The dark wishes that you don’t get lit up;

Because when you do,

Its reign is over;

You may think you’re alone in the dark;

But when you put your light on;

You’d find many people struggling to find their way;

Just where you are;

 

Don’t consider yourself insignificant;

Because you give off little light compared to another;

Just focus on shining your little light;

Do your best with what you have;

 

Don’t leave your dark corner;

To join someone shine at his corner;

You may shine brighter together;

But you will shine the brightest;

When you shine at where you stand.
