Setting off on a new journey

 Is like taking a voyage;

Filled with excitement about adventures yonder;

Thrilled to leave the shores behind you;

And discover new lands and experience new sentiments;

All pumped up with exhilaration with people cheering you on;

But soon you find yourself alone in the middle of the sea;

With no one around to urge you on;

Or warn you of a pending storm;

It begins to feel lonely, scary and uncertain;

You sometimes wish you could go back;

To the land of your comfort zone;

Where you were sure of how far you can go;

With the resources available;

And not fear for unforeseen events;

But you’re too far gone to turn back;

But not near enough to your destination;

Surrounded by waves threatening

To drown you in your insecurities;

But you remember the dream;

Which inspired the decision

To set off in the first place;

And your fears are subdued;

And your determination renewed;

You tell yourself, you’re not a quitter;

God hasn’t brought you this far to abandon you;

The fact that you’re convicted of setting off on a new course;

Doesn’t mean challenges won’t come your way;

Doesn’t mean fear and doubt would rear their ugly heads;

You might be looking around for cheerleaders;

To urge you on your stride but might find none;

But that doesn’t mean you made a mistake;

Remember you’re not alone in your boat;

The One who has the power to calm the storms;

Is with you all the way;

Even when you sometimes feel He isn’t;

He alone is more than enough boost for your courage;

If He gave you the dream to pursue;

Then he will give you what it takes to realize it;

It will neither be a smooth ride nor a bed of roses;

But the destination you’ll definitely reach;

If you continue to trust His directions and timing;

You can join Hillsong in singing;

Spirit, lead me where my trust is without borders;

Let me walk upon the waters;

Wherever you will call me;

Take me deeper than my feet can ever wander;

And my faith will be made stronger;

In the presence of my Savior;

Don’t be scared of the voyage;

Encourage yourself with the promise that;

Whatever He has started in you;

He will bring to a perfect finish.

    Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, “This is the way; walk in it.” Is 30:21
