Dream

I go to bed each night;

With an expectation to dream;

To find out how the future would turn out;

As if dreams were premonitions;

Sometimes they turn out to be

Manifestations of thoughts entertained during the day;

Some are amazing;

But forgotten the second the eyes snap open;

On other nights, nothing happens at all;

Just a blank, dreamless night;

Some dreams are a dose of happiness;

To put us in a good mood for the day;

Some others trigger a gloomy mood;

Even if the sun is brightest that day;

And there are those ones

Which leave us pensive;

Wondering what they mean;

And distracted, ignoring the present;

Hoping to decipher the puzzle;

And unlock the mystery ahead.

I thank God for the good dreams;

Giving me a renewed hope that all shall be well;

I pray to Him about the bad ones;

Pleading with Him to change it into my favor;

As He reveals to redeem;

I consult God about the puzzling dreams;

Asking for understanding

And a clearer picture;

So in sum,

Dreams are my prayer topics;

I don’t what your dreams mean to you;

If they scare you to the point

Where you wished you’d not sleep;

Or if they excite you enough;

To anticipate another night;

So as to dream some more;

Hoping there would be a sequel;

Or you can’t really be bothered;

They are just dreams, you say;

What matters is your reality;

Who knows why you dream

On certain nights;

And why you don’t on other nights;

Could it be a message of hope;

For your present situation;

Or a warning;

Ahead of a looming danger;

Whatever it may be;

I see dreams as a gift;

One money can’t buy.
