Y for Yes, Yep, Yup, Yeah

Today’s post is all about positivity and the power of ‘Yes’ alongside its contemporary aliases. As we gradually pull the curtain on the first quarter of the year, we all need a boost so we can relive the feeling of starting afresh just like at the beginning of the year.

When we get to this time of year, we are tempted to abandon the self-assigned goals and visions we promised ourselves to fulfill because once again, this year feels like just any other with the thrill of the New Year fading out.

We’ve tried to make it in several ways and like a game, sometimes we win and other times we don’t. But we don’t quit. When we fall, we get up and back into the game. So as we move into the second quarter of the year as God wills it, what do we say to persistence? Yes!

There are many proposed ways of achieving one’s dreams but the one sure way of fulfilling your purpose the right way is yielding ourselves to the will of God. His ways are not our ways so His directions are sure to shock us at some point to the extent that we might doubt that it is even God’s. The issue is, we tend to put God in a box and expect Him to act out of the options we have in it forgetting that He’s infinite in all respects so can’t be restricted by our finite thinking. In order to fully experience Him and follow His lead without much straying, we have to be open-minded with our expectations. The God who led His people in a pillar of the cloud and of fire, parted the sea for them to cross and fed them manna from heaven is the same God directing our steps and providing for us today. It would not be an easy ride but it surely would be rewarding. Ready to completely surrender your will to God? Yep, Yup!

Every game be it physical or video is played with the aim of defeating a challenge and coming out as the winner. Every player should love the challenge and face it with boldness. When one challenge is defeated, one proceeds to the next level and meets yet another challenge. This goes on till the end. Such is life. Every new level you wish to reach can only be realized after you’ve faced and overcome the challenge. There is no getting around this. Even shortcuts in life have their own challenges. There is no easy challenge-free path in this life. Running away from challenges means choosing not to progress.

We are given tests in school to qualify us to the next level. We may never have enjoyed them but excelling in the tests did make us feel good about ourselves. Life’s challenges can be consuming but if we choose to face them head-on, we will possess new territories after overcoming them. Do you choose to stare your challenges squarely in the face and defeat them? A big yeah!

Then this year is going to be a great and fulfilling one for us. Do I get an Amen?

I’ll say yes, Lord yes;
To your will and to your way;
I’ll say yes oh yes;
I will trust you and obey;

You have my answer;
Indeed is yes
My final answer
Completely yes
Lord you have my answer
Indeed forever is
Yes Lord
