Everything is going so well that you feel you’re finally living in the happily ever after period when suddenly there is a quake and leaves behind such a mess that you feel like you’re back to square one. And when you attempt to put together the broken pieces, they crumble into further tiny fragments till they all turn to dust. And you wonder, is your life going to go through this cycle forever?
Is the scenario familiar to you? Then you’re indeed in the race called life. It is not meant to be easy but to overcome every challenge thrown at you and rise at the top as the victor.
Life is like a road journey; it is either you’re en route or you’re taking a break. Life has a funny way of halting you at the point where you’re so geared up to go another mile.
It is either the gas gets finished or the tire goes flat. And it happens on the lonely road where there’s almost no hope of any help coming any time soon.
But a thought just occurred to me. The Bible tells us that everything happens for our good; that nothing happens to us which God doesn’t allow. So what if all the heartache and pain is an assignment which God has entrusted me with-which He believes I can carry out for His glory?
As Christians, we want God to trust us with everything He has for us. If it were to be some precious treasure, we want to be the ones entrusted to take care of it. So why do we reject it when it comes in the form of hurt and pain?
If we keep this in mind, we will change our attitude towards the obstacles and challenges we face in our daily lives. Just see it as a package from God to take care of till He comes back for it.
We are always being reminded to praise God no matter the circumstance. So praise God in the midst of the hard times because He saw you worthy to carry the burden and still hang on to Him. The same way the Virgin Mary was the one chosen to carry the baby Jesus in her womb, you’ve been chosen to handle the task, no matter how unconventional it may seem-God will recompense every sacrifice you had to make for Him.
Can God trust with you with obstacles? If He can, then everything else in Him can be entrusted to you.
2014, a new year it may be but it might not be too different from the past ones. Obstacles lay in wait but know that the God who allowed the storm your way is the same One who will calm it down and land you safely on the land.
Enjoy God’s blessings this season.
