Today is good; Tomorrow better

Sitting on the porch with chin cupped in the palm, the grey old man’s mind wanders to the past where all was well; blossoming and flourishing. He had a good life…
“Ah…I’ve seen better days,” he wonders to himself.

We all do that sometimes…when we look back and recall some of the great moments in our life and wonder what happened to us in the ‘now.’ Some have seen better days, yes, others not so good. But whatever it is, we have today so let’s rejoice and be glad in it.

In God, every day is a good day. Some days may be less stressful than others but as long as you survived it, you haven’t lost the fight yet. In Him, you wake up to a new day with renewed mercies and grace. So there’s no need to relive former glories to comfort ourselves. Rejoice in the fact that the best moments of your life are yet to come.

Maybe your yesterday was wonderful and you wish you could reset time back there and never ever have to see today but guess what, there’s always daylight after night, sunrise after sunset and joy after sorrow.
It is good to look back sometimes…if it is to remember where you’ve come from and give thanks to the One who has brought you this far but not to doubt who you are in Him and if He still has you in mind. If he has been faithful to you yesterday, be assured that He will be today and tomorrow as well.

No yesterday is better than tomorrow…we are all sojourners on this earth, just passing through. Some pastures may be greener than others but our destination is beyond our wildest imagination! Comfort yourself with this hope that the God we serve never fails in His promises.
