Look Beyond…

After everything you have done, it must be hard to have it all thrown at your face, right?

A little child was brought to your doorstep and you were asked to nurture the kid. You do so with all diligence, bringing him/her up in the best way you can in however way you can. The child then grows up and then tells you to the face that he/she does not need you anymore and he’s better off without you. How heartbreaking it must be!

“What did I do wrong?” you may ask. That’s just how humans are…

It’s never easy living and dealing with human beings. We are the most difficult beings we can ever live with. We are sometimes just….unimaginably impossible to understand.

It is upsetting to have your generosity thrown back in your face-like it was a total waste of time! You have the right to get mad, get unforgiving and become bitter but the responsibility of being an ambassador of Christ requires us to look beyond such flaws with love and show the ones who may have offended us mercy.

It could be your children (biological or not), your students, your employees or even your friends. As God’s representatives here on earth, we have been entrusted with the souls of many people-the ones who happen to cross our path in this life and then stay in it. They may seem like they are fine without you but perhaps, your destiny is tied to theirs and till you help them become what they are meant to be, your destiny might never be fulfilled.

We’ve all been there…

So let go of all the hurt and resentment you feel and let God heal you. Ask for His grace to be able to care for those who have turned their back towards you and hold on onto them till His will for them is fulfilled. Then you’re sure of your reward waiting for you in eternity.

Shepherding has never been an easy task; you face not only threats from outside but even rebellion from the flock but it is your job to lead them to the pasture safely. And remember, God never forgets your good deeds.

It is well…

  2. Thank you, Josey, for this reminder. My spirit needed to hear this reassurance today. I have shepherded and come up with rejection. It hurts, but knowing you have “reported for duty” is your reward. Shalom

  3. Thank you for the encouragement. As a mom of teens I pray, pray and pray… and bite my tongue in between times. 😉 Thankfully I’ve been given sincere thanks and hugs along the way too!

I totally understand, Wendy. It’s not easy having to be responsible for some people. But by God’s grace, we’ll do it. Blessings! 🙂
