Everyone Hurts

Hurt. Everyone hurts. As it is said, it is as human to hurt as it is to breathe. We are all vulnerable to feeling that once in a while. Some hurts fade away so fast that we even forget it happened; others take time to heal. And I’m sure everyone has felt hurt in both ways more than once.

I believe feeling hurt is painful because we usually get hurt by people close to us, whom we expect to love us and protect our feelings. As we grow up, we sometimes get hurt by some comments our parents passed at the heat of the moment; other times we feel down by some hurtful things our peers said to us because they just wanted to be mean. All these pieces of hurt go on a long way to shape who we turn out to be.

Some pangs of hurt are so deeply buried within us that it would take special grace to help heal from them. People have turned out to be mistrustful of others and others tend to isolate themselves and become unsociable so as not to vulnerable to hurt again. Such turn-outs are not healthy and could lead to fatal consequences.
Whenever you get hurt, do whatever it takes to make you feel better; find an excuse for the person’s actions and let it go; talk to a friend about it, give yourself time to heal. If it was a negative declaration into your life, refute it and work hard to prove him or her wrong.

All hurts no matter how trivial they may seem need divine grace and strength to let go of. That is why I would recommend that you hand over all the pain and hurt to Jesus who is more than able to relieve you of all your loads of hurts and burdens. He says,

“Come to me all you who are weak and heavy laden and I’ll give you rest…”

No issue is too insignificant for God; you matter to him and whatever bothers you concerns Him so don’t hesitate to take it all to Him in prayer.

As humans, we are all bound to hurt others as well. As much as it depends on us, let’s not hurt people by the words we say or by the attitudes we put up. People are more sensitive than they look; they are more delicate than you think. Don’t make someone feel what you hate to feel.
Don’t bury the hurt you feel; make time to heal yourself. Help someone to heal. Don’t hurt anyone on purpose.

Have a blessed day, folks!
